The role
You'd be responsible for new business — finding brands that need what Pomelo does, getting into the room, and closing. The pitch is easier than most: 750+ campaigns delivered, 100M+ views generated, and a client list that includes Tecno, Talabat, Chery, Al Mouyassar and Xiaomi. Marketing directors in Erbil and Baghdad recognise those names.
What makes this different from selling for most agencies is that you won't be writing cheques the delivery team can't cash. Six disciplines sit in this building — brand, web, video, social, paid, SEO. When you promise an integrated campaign, there's an integrated team behind it who has done it before. You'll spend less time managing disappointment and more time selling the next one.
You'd work closely with the Proposals & Budgeting Executive on scoping and pricing, and report directly to the COO.
Why Pomelo
- Six disciplines, one building. Brand, web, video, social, paid, SEO. Most projects use three or four together, and you'd sit next to the people doing the rest.
- Iraq's brands, not Iraq's budgets. Tecno, Talabat, Al Mouyassar, Xiaomi, Holdal, Chery. The client list is why people stay.
- Erbil and Baghdad, working in three languages. Everything we make is built natively in Kurdish, Arabic and English, not translated afterwards.
What we need
- 2+ years in B2B sales, business development or agency account management.
- Comfortable with the full cycle — prospecting, pitching, negotiating, closing.
- Kurdish and Arabic essential, strong English.
- A network in the Iraqi business community is a real advantage, but we'll take hunger over a contact list.
- Based in Erbil or able to relocate before starting.
You don't need agency experience. You need to be able to sit across from a marketing director and be taken seriously.
