The role
Concepts and source material in one end, images and scenes nobody's seen before out the other. You'd generate stills and video with AI, keep characters consistent across shots, build synthetic worlds and prompt-engineer your way to material the designer or editor can pick up and polish into finished work.
You're the origin of the visual — the person who makes the impossible cheap enough to try. Your job isn't to finish the frame. Your job is to keep pushing what's possible with the tools, and to hand off strong material.
We use AI to remove the boring parts — never as an excuse for lazy craft.
Why Pomelo
- Six disciplines, one building. Brand, web, video, social, paid, SEO. You'd sit next to the designers and editors who take your material forward.
- Iraq's brands, not Iraq's budgets. Tecno, Talabat, Al Mouyassar, Xiaomi, Holdal, Chery. The client list is why people stay.
- Erbil and Baghdad, working in three languages. Everything we make is built natively in Kurdish, Arabic and English, not translated afterwards.
What we need
- 6+ months hands-on with Midjourney, Runway, Sora, Veo, Kling, ComfyUI, or comparable tools. Strong portfolio in place of tenure is fine.
- Prompt-engineering fluency — you know why one prompt lands and another doesn't, and you can articulate the difference.
- Character and world consistency workflows: reference images, ControlNet, LoRAs, seeds, style transfer.
- Comfortable jumping between image, video, and audio generation as the brief demands.
- Basic Photoshop or Premiere for touch-ups. The AI generation IS the job — final polish belongs to the designer or editor.
- An eye for when the AI output is actually good vs. plausible-looking slop. Taste matters more than tools here.
- Kurdish or Arabic plus working English. Portfolio required.
- Based in Erbil or able to relocate before starting.
A great portfolio beats years of experience for this role. Six months of surprising work beats five years of decent work.
