The role
Every proposal Pomelo sends starts as a blank page and a deadline. You'd own that page.
The job is scoping and pricing campaigns across six disciplines — brand, web, video, social, paid, SEO — for clients ranging from local retail businesses to international beauty groups. That means sitting with the creative and production leads, understanding what a shoot or a rebuild actually takes, and turning it into a number a client will sign and the team can deliver against without bleeding.
It's three jobs braided together. Commercial judgement: knowing what a project is worth in this market. Spreadsheet discipline: costing accurately enough that margin survives contact with reality. And writing: a proposal has to argue for the work, not just list it.
You'd work alongside the Sales Executive on live opportunities and report directly to the COO.
Why Pomelo
- Six disciplines, one building. Brand, web, video, social, paid, SEO. Most projects use three or four together, and you'd sit next to the people doing the rest.
- Iraq's brands, not Iraq's budgets. Tecno, Talabat, Al Mouyassar, Xiaomi, Holdal, Chery. The client list is why people stay.
- Erbil and Baghdad, working in three languages. Everything we make is built natively in Kurdish, Arabic and English, not translated afterwards.
What we need
- 2+ years in proposals, project costing, account management or agency operations.
- Strong Excel — comfortable building a cost model from scratch, not filling in someone else's template.
- Genuinely good written English; Kurdish and Arabic strongly preferred.
- Organised enough to run several live proposals against overlapping deadlines.
- Willing to say "that estimate is wrong" to people more senior than you.
- Based in Erbil or able to relocate before starting.
Agency background helps, but we'd take a sharp finance or operations person who can write.
